LAHORE: Punjab’s Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz, has revealed intentions to introduce an online property transfer service designed especially for Pakistanis living abroad in an effort to shield foreigners from possible fraud.
The newly elected provincial leader stressed the importance of this move while presiding over a special meeting of the Punjab Board of Revenue (BoR) that was centered on reforms.
The online property transfer service, which offers services for land registration, e-filing, and mutation, would ease the procedure for Pakistanis living abroad. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Shareef ordered its prompt implementation, focusing on Pakistanis residing in the US, UK, Saudi Arabia, and other Gulf countries. She requested a list of all government land in the province and emphasized the importance of offering these services on schedule.
To improve public facilities, the Chief Minister also talked about plans to build parks and roadside gyms on government-owned land in addition to property transfer services. In order to expedite land-related procedures, she also directed the creation of land facilitation centers in each district.
During the meeting, officials discussed the future land facilitation centers in detail, anticipating their opening in 11 divisions by June 30. They also revealed plans to make 5,798 Mauza land records available online by December 2024. Furthermore, they informed Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz about the upcoming launch of the online land record project in 10 districts, highlighting the emphasis on using 811,044 acres of public land for corporate farming.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz chaired another meeting in Lahore earlier in the day to discuss detailed planning for Punjab’s Regional Economic Corridor. In order to support small industrialists and efficiently tackle smog, she stressed the significance of mapping industrial zones and obtaining reliable data.
Maryam Nawaz confirmed that the government is dedicated to helping investors and promised to make the province more welcoming for them.
